Our Booking Process
The prospect of travelling to Africa, for many people, is a rather daunting one and having a team of Southern Africa specialists to provide you with informed advice and allay any concerns you might have is an invaluable service. As you move through the process, our specialists are on hand to provide you with up-to-date and accurate information with regard to flights, visa requirements, insurance, inoculations, and a variety of other considereations. We know Southern Africa.
First, we encourage you to browse our site which contains a wealth of information to acquaint you with much of what Southern Africa has to offer and what to expect on your arrival. A review of our Luxury Travel Packages is an ideal starting point since our packages are built around the most popular destinations and activities within Southern Africa and are designed to maximize your time while here. Also, the accommodations listed in each package may also be changed based on your particular needs or desires. We encourage you to Look through the list of more than fifty luxury accomodations offerings and base your decision on your individual preferences.
Also, while our tours are complete tours as presented, they have been developed in a modular form so individual components of the various tours may be may be selected and combined in other ways to create an entirely new and unique itinerary. We will be happy to work with you to create that unique travel itinerary. Once you have an idea of what you would like in your package, please contact us using our "Request a Quotation" so we may answer your questions, offer suggestions and help you put together the exact package that is right for you.
Once you've decided on a date, itenerary and the elements of your package, we will contact all of the providers and confirm each of the individual elements of the package and send you a detailed itinerary and price for the package you have requested. Once you are completely happy with all of the elements of your tour the booking process will begin.
1. Booking
On confirmation of accommodation and services, a 30% deposit will be required to secure the reservation with the balance of payment due 45 days prior to your arrival. Additional deposits may be requested should these be required by the suppliers.

Cancellation of your booking must be made in writing. The following fees apply:

Once a booking has been processed, no charge will be levied for the first change. However, any subsequent changes will be charged at US$20 per change
4. Baggage
While every care is taken, the Company cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to baggage and valuables such as photographic equipment, jewellery, etc. Tour members are limited to one suitcase not weighing more than 20kg (44 lbs) and one hand baggage item which recognized IATA airlines allow passengers to carry on board the aircraft. In the event of there not being sufficient space in the vehicle or aircraft for excess baggage, the tour member will be responsible for the cost of transporting / storing the excess baggage.
Please Note:
For safety reasons and due to space being restricted, baggage in charter aircraft is limited to a maximum of 12 kg per person in a soft bag. This includes camera equipment and carry on baggage. Should guests arrive with excess baggage without prior warning, their baggage could be delayed as alternative arrangements, at considerable extra cost to clients, will need to be made. However should clients know in advance that their baggage will exceed the limit, an extra seat (for the bags) can usually be booked, at an additional cost, on the aircraft.
5. Passport & Visa
It is your responsibility to ensure that passports and visas are valid for the countries visited. The Company, our staff and our agents cannot be held liable for any visas not held by the clients.
6. Insurance
We strongly advise our clients to take out comprehensive insurance to cover against possible cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, emergency evacuation and loss of personal baggage & money.
7. Wild Animals
Please be aware that these safaris may take you into close contact with wild animals. Attacks by wild animals are rare, but no safari into the African wilderness can guarantee that this will not occur. Neither the Company, nor our employees, nor our agents can be held responsible for any injury or incident on the safari. Please note that certain of the camps included in the itineraries my not be fenced.
8. Health
We strongly suggest that clients take anti-malaria medication prior to commencing these tours. Please consult your doctor/pharmacist for specific advice. No other medications or inoculations are necessary, but please check with your health department for any possible changes in health regulations.
Clients with health problems or specific requirements must notify the Company in advance.
9. Responsibilities
Trans Africa Safaris act only in the capacity of agents in all matters relating to hotel accommodation, sightseeing and transport, whether by aircraft, railroad, motorcoach, vehicle, landrover, ship, boat, ferry or any other means and, as such, hold ourselves free of responsibility for any delays, loss, injury, illness, death or damage from whatsoever cause.
10. Alterations to Tours
The Company reserves the right to change the routes, hotels or arrangements set out in the itineraries should conditions make this necessary.
11. Tour Price Exclusions

Personal expenses such as beverages (unless otherwise indicated), laundry, telephone calls, room service, a la carte meals, tips to waiters / hotel staff and gratuities to driver/guides, rangers & rackers.
