Daily Activities:

Day 1, Departure Johannesburg on BP (included) and arrive at Maun. You will be met by Orient Express Safaris who will assist you with your transfer to a light aircraft and on to Eagle Island Camp where standard accommodation are reserved for 2 nights with meals and activities included. Your luxurious accommodation is built of timber with thatch roofing and tented canvas walls and is set on its own raised viewing platform to give a close up view of wildlife and the abundant birdlife of the area.

Day 2, Eagle Island Camp at Xaxaba is probably one of the most beautiful and unspoiled areas of the world and is the gateway to the wonderful and mysterious Okavango Delta whose waters pass swiftly and silently through vast beds of papyrus, and countless islands of palm trees to eventually soak into the subterranean sands of the Kalahari DesertActivities include game viewing by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), motor boats and walking trails. During times of high flood magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed from the camp’s sunset cruiser or from the raised deck overlooking the lagoon.

Day 3, A l ight aircraft will transfer you to Khwai River Lodge (included) where a twin bedded luxury tent with a shaded deck facing the Khwai River, en suite facilities is reserved for 2 nights with meals and activities included. Khwai River Lodge stands on the banks of the Khwai River with a commanding view of the flood plain. From your private deck you can view elephant, hippo and vast varieties of bird, while from the observation platform, fortunate game watchers can spot waterbuck, crocodile, cheetah and herds of countless antelope and zebra grazing off the veldt. It is also possible to see lion, hyena, wild dog and leopard.

Day 4, Activities includemorning and afternoon game drives or guided walks, after dark spotlight game drives – supervised by expert rangers. Bird watching and game flights are available on request (cost excluded).

Day 5 , A l ight aircraft will transfer you to Savute Elephant Camp (included) where a luxurious twin bedded tent with private timber decks and spacious en-suite facilities including a “his and hers vanity unit” and a dressing room area are reserved for 2 nights. Meals and activities included. Savute Elephant Camp is set amidst towering acacia trees on the banks of the dry Savute Channel in a rugged, semi-arid, wilderness region of the Chobe National Park.

Day 6, Game viewing acritivies which includes a resident pride of lion and rare wild dog, may be viewed from the large deck of the airy central lounge and dining area or from open safari vehicles during morning and evening drives. Savute is known for its exciting year-round game viewing and excellent birdlife. A treasury of Bushman rock paintings preserved at various sites, a short distance from the camp, are a special attraction.

Day 7, A l ight aircraft will transfer you to Maun (included) for your Departure BP (Included) to Johannesburg where you will complete your Natural Encouters adventure in South Africa.
