Eagle Island Camp is located in the Okavango Delta, one of the world's largest inland water systems and the only inland delta of its kind and offeres a unique variety of life in the centre of the Kalahari Desert. It stretches over 16,000 square km and supports a variety of animal, plant, fish and birdlife. The Delta consists of a multitude of main channels, smaller tributaries and lagoons as well as floodplains, islands and mainland areas.
Built to blend into its environment, the camps afford guests a peaceful setting perfect for enjoying the sights and sounds of the Okavango Delta. The camp is situated on the island of Xaxaba and surrounded by Illala Palms which keep it hidden from the world deep within the Delta. The camp is one of the Delta's most pristine natural locations, a region of myriad waterways, palm-tree covered islands and vast flood plains. overlooks a lagoon fed by the tranquil waterways of the Delta.
The area offers exceptionally high quality wildlife viewing with prolific birdlife and mammal sightings. The magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed during times of high flood from the camp's raised deck overlooking the lagoon or from the Fish Eagle Bar, one of the most romatic bars in the world as voted by the New York Times.
The camp offers a cool retreat from the African sun and is shaded by a canopy of indigenous trees.
